In terms of hardware, in addition to improved environmental resistance, a large LCD graphic display has been adopted that can display not only kanji, hiragana, and katakana, but also graphics. Furthermore, operability has been remarkably improved through the use of touch panel switches and a new card system (JEIDA standard).
The basic design of the FC-7 is an IBM-PC compatible computer. Naturally, the OS (basic software) is MS-DOS (R), which has dramatically improved basic performance.
