In terms of hardware, in addition to improved environmental resistance, a large LCD graphic display has been adopted that can display not only Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana, but also graphics. Furthermore, usability has been dramatically improved with the adoption of touch panel switches and a new card system (JEIDA standard).
The basic design of the FC-7 is an IBM-PC compatible computer. It is equipped with MS-DOS (R) as the OS (basic software), resulting in a significant improvement in basic performance.
