This is the simplest type of Schmidt hammer, which estimates the uniaxial compressive strength of concrete from its rebound value.
●The Schmidt test hammer can be applied directly to any location on a completed structure to obtain measurements.
●It can assess changes in concrete over time without damaging it, making it ideal for quality control.
●Concrete strength is estimated from rebound strength (elastic rebound). By reading this rebound strength from a pre-prepared graph, concrete compressive strength can be determined within a standard deviation range of 28 kg/cm2.
●The Schmidt test hammer can reliably measure surface hardness.
●Its simple design requires no special operating skill and allows for rapid measurement.
●Suitable for construction sites where only a small number of measurements are needed.
