■Return Loss, VSWR
Using the Site Master, you can measure return loss and VSWR to check compliance with antenna system specifications.
■Cable Loss
Cable loss measurement measures losses in a cable feed system. Before installation, this measurement can be verified by accessing both ends of the cable. Average cable loss is also calculated automatically.
■Distance-to-Fault
Return loss measurement is the best way to check the health of a system. The distance-to-fault (DTF) function is used to troubleshoot systems and identify problems.
The Site Master's DTF measurement uses a Fast Fourier Transform to convert frequency-domain data into time-domain data, then displays the results as distance. Common trace formulas can be used to monitor small relative changes.
■Transmission Measurement Function (Option 0021)
Cellular/PCS and 3G base stations now use diplexers, duplexers, and tower-mounted amplifiers to expand coverage. The Site Master's transmission measurement function can measure their gain, isolation, and insertion loss, as well as isolation between sectors.
■Internal Bias Tee (Option 0010) ※Requires Option 0021
The internal bias tee can be switched on as needed to supply +12 V to +32 V to the RF center conductor of the port, eliminating the need to bring an external power supply to the field.
