This unit can measure digital TV signals for VHF, UHF, BS, CS, and CATV. Additionally, the LCN3A can also measure the CATV communication band (10-55MHz). Both models have been improved with high precision, adding BER and MER measurement to the market-proven Maspro-exclusive reception confirmation mark. Furthermore, this level checker is more high-performance and multi-functional than previous models, featuring a constellation display and swappable terminals.
■ Background and Development Intent
With terrestrial digital broadcasting, even when the reception level is appropriate, signal quality could deteriorate due to reflected waves or noise, sometimes causing images not to appear. To address this, we equipped our exclusive terrestrial digital reception confirmation mark feature, which has high precision and can measure not only the reception level but also the BER and MER values representing signal quality. Furthermore, we included a feature to display MER both numerically and visually through a constellation display.
Terrestrial Digital Reception Confirmation Mark Display (Patent Pending)
For adjusting terrestrial digital broadcast antennas, BER and MER values are critical. This unit displays the mark when these values are optimal, ensuring accurate antenna direction adjustment.
Constellation Display Function
Considering the signal sent from the broadcast station as the ideal value, it is displayed as a dot at the center of a square. By observing how far the actually received signal deviates from the center, you can visually grasp the quality of the MER.
