Previously, time-consuming and costly load tests were required to obtain the deformation modulus and static modulus of elasticity of bedrock, which are essential as basic design data for civil engineering structures such as dams, tunnels, penstocks, and power plants. Compared to such conventional methods, the Schmidt Rock Hammer can estimate bedrock coefficients quickly and easily.
