■The 12R is an ultra-compact, lightweight, V-groove fixed, multi-fiber fusion splicer that can splice single fibers and fiber counts of up to four.
■Compared with previous models, it is smaller and lighter, and offers various performance improvements, including a faster heater, longer battery life, and enhanced environmental resistance.
■The carrying case has also been made more compact and multifunctional, further improving ease of use.

The 12R is a groundbreaking optical fiber fusion splicer featuring a reliable two-axis observation system in a palm-sized, slim design with a maximum thickness of 57 mm. It weighs just 776 g, redefining the concept of a fusion splicer.
Developed with a focus on improving workability, it is designed for the confined and elevated workspaces typical of FTTH (Fiber To The Home) installations, now underway around the world as internet traffic grows. It comes standard with a convenient portable work tray, shortens the heating time for reinforcing sleeves, and uses a newly developed high-capacity lithium-ion battery. Its power-efficient design enables work sessions more than three times longer than those of previous models, and it features a 4.47-inch large LCD monitor, the largest in its class.
The carrying case has also been designed not only to be compact but to let users begin splicing as soon as they open the lid, further improving usability by reducing equipment setup time.
