Colnago was born. When Ernesto started working at a welding factory at the age of 12, his weekly wages were said to be 2 kg of flour.

Ernesto, who worked steadily as a welder and was also an excellent road racer who won numerous victories, became independent in 1954 and founded his long-awaited bicycle shop in his hometown of Cambiago. Incidentally, even today, Colnago continues to send high-performance road frames to the world from Ernesto's hometown of Cambiago.

Shortly after founding the bicycle shop, the bicycle Colnago produced won gold at the Rome Olympics out of the blue and began to receive attention, but later he became involved in a fateful encounter with further charisma.
